This article talks about how Facebook has made changes to their privacy settings and has left many users unsatisfied and scared. They violated the trust of hundreds of millions of users, putting many of them at risk where they had felt safe before, and by ruining that trust in the first major social network online, the next generation of online social network user data is put at risk.Facebook is the first online system that has allowed us to publish our most personal interest online for the whole world to see. Though we know that what we put up there is no longer private for only our friends to see, we still keep posting new information daily.

ReplyDeleteWe do have some control over our privacy settings, but Facebook and other sites mine our data for all sorts of marketing information. I wonder who among us is still willing to remain on Facebook under the new policies?
